Twenty years ago today in September 1997 I went to London for Lady Diana’s Funeral. I have never done anything with these photos until now. At the time when they were developed I did not really think they were anything special and then forgot about them. A few years back my mum found them when moving, looking back at them it seems worlds away; the fashion, absence of mobile phones. Tony Blair had only been prime minister for five months and 9/11 was four years away. One last note for the camera nerds out there, these were shot on a Canon EOS 50e (film body obviously). Brighton’s West Pier & Starling Murmuration by Kevin Meredith
The starlings are flocking in Brighton at the moment, they appear about 20 minutes before sunset and soon as the sun goes down (even if it’s behind cloud) they stop. Not a super huge murmuration but it’s still an impressive show. Very similar to a shot that I took last year.

Cockney Geezer in Bruno’s Cafe Soho by Kevin Meredith
Food in Soho has gone a posh over the last few years. While the breakfast club is awesome it tends to filled with hipsters. For some proper honest grub I recommend Bruno’s Cafe where I found this gentleman.
Shot with a Lomography’ Petzval lens mounted on a 5D mark 3. I have written a review of the Petzval on my blog here.

Never gets old! Dave Sawyers doing fish face again. Dave is a legend in Brighton swimming club check more pictures of him in this Flickr album. Dave insisted on doing this again because in my previous attempts at shooting this the fish had not been close enough together.

Royal Pavilion Brighton by Kevin Meredith
There is a tiny fish pond in front of the Pavilion which is great for shooting reflections, unfortunately my lens is not quite wide enough to the top of the reflection in frame! While I’m on the subject of Brighton I’ve a weekend workshop coming up at the start of May.
