Bit choppy down at the beach today. Theres something exhilerating about standing out on the Pier, feeling it rumble as a big wave rolls underneath and then smashes into the groyne right in from of you. Can’t help but remember watching the West Pier collapse in similar conditions too!
This is one of the perfect accidents, I was trying to get a shot of empty scene when this lady who was clearly on a hen weekend walked into shot and took a picture. You can see the shot I took before here.
This is one of the photos from a shoot where I shot Brighton, pretty much none stop for 36 hours to produce this montage. The whole thing was filmed by a film crew for O2’s YouTube channel. You can watch the film and read more about this on my blog here. You can see some of the other images I shot for the montage in this Flickr set.
On the subject of talking photos in Brighton why join m on one of my weekend photo courses? I got courses coming up in Brighton, Munich and maybe Leeds and Manchester.
I processed the digital file using lightroom and VSCO film, I am a big fan of this duo. If you are Lightroom user or just beginning with it you need to check out my 5 not so known lightroom tips on my blog.

I shot this Instagram to check it out here. When I take what I think is a interesting photograph with Instagram I always want to shot it properly, weather that be on film or on a 5D. I am lomokev on Instagram to by the way.
I am still swimming in the sea even though the temperature is dipping below 5°C (41°F). Because its dark i don’t tend to take my water proof camera to swimming with me. Also because its so cold there is not enough time to bang off a roll before you have to get out. but imagine this: 2 days ago what you see in the photo was covered in ice from because of a leaking pipe on the pier. Quite surreal swimming round it i can tell you, really wish I had a camera with me.
